PHDCCI J&K organizes webinar on importance of COVID vaccination

JAMMU, Apr 15: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PHDCCI) Jammu & Kashmir today organized a webinar on importance of COVID vaccination. The webinar was attended by 175 participants from J&K.
Pradeep Multani (senior vice president, PHDCCI) in his presidential address urged all the participants and industrialists to encourage people at their workplace and also out of their premises to get vaccinated.
Rahul Sahai (chairman PHDCCI Jammu) said COVID- 19, the virus with a crown – has incredible speed at which it changes its strains. He said Mankind has defeated plague, Spanish flu, etc and so will be COVID-19 defeated.
Baldev Singh Raina (chairman PHDCCI Kashmir) stated that a vaccine does not completely prevent us from getting infected, but it almost certainly prevents death or serious complications.
Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Director Health Services Kashmir, in his remarks appealed people for more and more vaccination while Dr Shahid Hussain, Extended Program Immunization Officer (EPIO) Directorate of Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization, J&K appealed various religious heads to come forward and make people understand the benefits of vaccination.
Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma (Principal & Dean GMC Jammu) said that COVID appropriate behaviour and vaccination are the only two big Weapons against the resurging COVID-19 pandemic whereas Dr Rahul Gupta (Prof & Head, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, GMC Jammu) advised people to stop taking the disease lightly.
Dr Mir Faisal (leading Pulmonologist from Kashmir) talked about more and more public awareness sessions. He emphasized on clearing doubts of people regarding vaccination so that they come forward and get themselves vaccinated.
Pradip Gandotra (chairman, Civil Society Jammu) extended full support to PHDCCI in its future endeavours too and appealed citizens to come forward for vaccination.
Dr Ankur Gupta (Director, ModeI Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu) said vaccines for younger generation should also come at the earliest as young students are at more risk now with the new strain.
Lalit Mahajan (chairman, Federation of Industries) appealed Financial Commissioner Health for testing of drivers coming from outside the UT and establishing vaccination centre at ESI Hospital, Bari Brahmna for labourers.
The session started with initial remarks by Naveen Seth (assistant secretary general PHDCCI) while ended with vote of thanks presented by Sanjay Aggarwal (co chair PHDCCI Jammu).
