Srinagar, Aug 1: Daily Wagers and casual labours of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department today appealed Government to regularize their services.
The PHE dailywagers and casual labours had organized one day convention at Town hall Pulwama and had invited Chief Minister’s political analyst, Waheed-ur-Rahman Parra and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Khalil Bandh. The convention was organized by the employees of twin districts of Pulwama and Shopian.
On the occasion, the PHE employees appealed Parra and Bandh to take up the issue of regularization with the Government. The employees said that many of them are working since year 1993 as dailywagers and casual labours and even after 22 years they have not been regularized.
“We staged dozens of protests to wake up the Government but so far we have not been regularized,” they said, adding: “many of us are those who are retiring just after two or three months.”
