JAMMU, Aug 7: Daily wagers and CP workers of PHE Department under the aegis of All PHE Daily Wagers/CP Workers today went on indefinite strike in the Sub-Sections, New Plots/Janipur, against non release of their wages for last 33 months.
The association said that workers of PHE Department are facing a lot of domestic problems and finding it difficult to fulfill even basic requirements of the family members, as they are without salaries for last 33 months.
The workers alleged that due to non-payment of salaries they and their families are on the verge of starvation and therefore they have resorted to path of indefinite strike. They warned that if their pending wages are not cleared within a day or two they will stop the water supply to their respective areas in Jammu.
