KATHUA, Sept 16: Hundreds of daily wage workers of PHE Department from Billawar and other tehsils of Kathua district staged mass protest demonstration in front of office of Executive Engineer PHE division Kathua against their weekly attendance in the office.
Kabla Singh president Low Paid Employees Federation Kathua led the demonstration. Besides, him, Saleem Ahmed, Narayan Singh, Suraj Prakash and Raj Kumar were among the speakers.
Kabla Sing while addressing the gathering, severally criticized the arbitrary and ill advised orders issued by the authorities in this regard and said that it is impracticable for the worker both physically and economically, to come to Kathua from all over the district to mark the attendance every week.
He said if all their weekly attendance is required it should be at tehsil headquarters which may be convenient for them to some extent.
