JAMMU, Oct 29: The PHE daily wagers took out a protest demonstration in front of DC Office complex, Kathua in support of their genuine demands. The workers led by their district president, Yog Raj Singh raised slogans in favour of their genuine demands.
They blocked the college road for some time and tried to force their entry to DC Office to meet Chief Secretary who was on one day visit to Kathua to discuss the on going development works.
The protesters want to submit a charter of demand to Chief Secretary. But police stopped their entry to DC Office complex, Kathua where CS was holding meeting with officers. The police team did not allow them to enter.
While addressing Yog Raj widely condemned the attitude of Government towards PHE daily wagers for ignoring them as they are on strike for last 55 days in support of their genuine demands.
He demanded the regularisation of PHE daily wagers and release of pending salary of past four years. He alleged that daily wagers are at the verge of starvation and their children are forced to leave the schools for non payment of school fees.
The protesters also locked the doors of Tube Well, Dug Well and Booster Pumping Station in Kathua.
