PHE Deptt drivers, cleaners discuss demands

JAMMU, July 21: The PHE Drivers and Cleaners Union in a meeting under the chairmanship of Kartar Chand Dubey discussed their long pending unresolved demands threadbare and urged the authorities concerned to concede the same without any further delay.
The demands raised in the meeting pertained to promotion of staff and confirmation of promotion of employees, which has been done recently by the department as also the problems caused due to GPRS system introduced recently.
The union spokesperson said the GPRS system should not be implemented in the department because it cannot be brought in practice on ground as the same has created many hurdles before the concerned staff and in this regard the union has demanded immediate withdrawal of such system. The union also demanded uniformity in operational system of water tankers and inspection tankers both in Jammu and Kashmir.
Appreciating the gesture of MLAs of Jammu East and Jammu West for providing water tankers to the PHE Department, the union appealed all the MPs and MLAs to provide more water tankers, load carriers and inspection vehicles from their CDF to the PHE Department.
Prominent among those present in the meeting were Mohan Singh Charak (president), Devinder Singh (general secretary), Naresh Kumar, Ramesh Lal, Joginder Singh, Bishen Choudhary, Parkash Chand, Mohd Mushtaq, Balbir Singh, Kamal Singh and others.
