UDHAMPUR, Oct 3: PHE Employees Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of Som Nath, senior Trade Union Leader Jammu Province.
In the meeting, Som Nath said that ‘Kaam Chod Hartal’ was started on September 25 by PHE workers, but Government shows non-seriousness to solve the genuine demands of the workers, resulting the general public are suffering badly.
He added that due to non-release of wages, the condition of workers and their families have become worst. Government behaves with the workers as bonded labourers and is sipping their blood, he said.
He demanded regularization of CP/ITI/Land Cases workers, release of pending wages, Minimum Wages Act as per UT status, appointment of staff, change of designation, clearance of dues of retired daily wagers, etc.
Som Nath has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene and solve the issues of the employees as early as possible.
Among others, who spoke were Vijay Sharma, Dinesh Kesar, Vidya Ram, Amit Dubey, Shambu Dutt, Karan Dass, Shanker Dass, Shamsher Singh and Lakshman Singh.
