PHE employees demand release of pending wages

UDHAMPUR, Mar 3: A joint meeting of executive bodies of Udhampur and Reasi districts of PHE Employees Association was held here under the chairmanship of Vijay Kumar Sharma, district Udhampur general secretary.
Senior leaders of both the districts appealed the Minister for PHE and I&FC, for release of pending wages as Rs 42 crore were available against Rs 87  crore required for pending wages as claimed by the Minister himself in employees convention here on December 29 last. Civil Division president Suraj Parkash also addressed and urged the Minister for release of wages of poor workers.
Other demands projected during the meeting pertained to; Shortage of staff; Holding of Departmental Committee meeting, which has not been convened after repeated directions from the Minister concerned; Change of designation as per nature of job being performed by the workers; Benefit of SRO 64 in favour of those awaiting regularization for more than 15 years; Enhancement in daily wage rate to Rs 350; Release of 10percent DA in favour of employees from January 1, 2014 etc.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Rattan Singh, Baldev Raj, Jagdish Raj, Munshi Ram Bali, Subash Chander, Mohinder Singh, Makhjan Chand, Krishan Chand, Chuni Lal, Rajinder Kumar, Som Raj, Ved Parkash, Luxman Singh, Bharat Singh etc.
