PHE employees hold meeting, highlight problems

SAMBA, May 16: A meeting  of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, district Samba was held under the chairmanship of  Shiv Kumar Sharma, provincial president of the Association, here, today. It took stock of the problems of PHE employees, besides new president was announced for division Samba on the occasion.
Speaking in the meeting Shiv Kumar Sharma said that due to the retirement of Surinder Singh- Divisional president Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Samba,  Ravi Kumar Khajuria- vice president  INTUC J&K was looking after the  affairs of the division, as  temporary arrangement. He said that Kishore Singh has been appointed as president and   Ashok Kumar as general secretary and Roop Chand as vice president of Water Works PHE Employees Association  Division Samba, with immediate effect and Ravi Khajuria has been relieved from the charge. The other office bearers and members will be announced in due course of time.
While highlighting the demands of PHE workers including daily wagers, need base, CP. Workers, land donors etc. Sharma said that they have not been paid their salaries regularly. They are facing lot of hardship with regard to feeding their family members and providing fee for the education of their children. He urged the Government to explore all possibilities to pay wages regularly to these employees. He also demanded regularization of all daily wagers, need base, CP Workers, land donors and  ITI workers , besides department promotion be held twice in a year.
