PHE employees hold protest

UDHAMPUR, Apr 12: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association held massive protest at PHE Complex here under the chairmanship of Vijay Sharma, district general secretary in support of their long pending genuine demands.
Employees drawn from Krimchi, Sounthian, Barrian, Kallar, Garhio Rehmbal, Jib Thatti etc participated in the protest. While addressing Vijay Sharma criticized the attitude of Executive Engineer Mech. Division Udhampur for non-payment of salary to regular employees. The workers and the employees shouted slogans in support of their demands.
The other demands voiced during protest pertained to release of pending wages of workers for the past 18 months, engagement of workers to run the water supplies smoothly, holding of DPC meeting immediately, enhancement in daily wage rate to Rs 325, putting a halt to direct recruitment of workers and above all issuance of T&P articles to employees working in far flung areas and in Udhampur town.
While addressing Vijay Sharma urged the Executive Engineer Mechanical Engineering Division to provide salary to permanent employees upto 5th of every month.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Suraj Parkash, Subash Chander, Manoj Kumar, Rajinder Sharma, Yashbir Singh, Janait Ali, Prem Singh etc.
