PHE employees hold protest demonstration

JAMMU, May 27: The hundreds of employees and daily rated workers of the PHE Department under the banner of PHE Workers Welfare Association, held a protest demonstration here at PHE Complex, BC Road, in support of their demands.
The protest demonstration was held under the leadership of the provincial president of the Association, Bakshi Singh.
While addressing the protesting employees, Bakshi Singh said that a lot of efforts had been made to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards their demands, through representation and verbal negotiations, but arrogant administration did nothing to resolve their issues.
Reiterating the demands of the employees, which included regularization of daily rated workers after five years of service, daily wages of Rs 150 for daily rated workers, clearance of all backlog wages of workers, conduct of DPC meet of permanent employees against available vacant posts, etc., he urged the administration to resolve them to avoid any agitation by the employees.
The provincial president also asks PHE Minister to clear his stand on Circular No 9 of GAD dated March 26, 2013. He urged the Minister to stop the meaning less verification process of the daily rated workers, which he said is nothing but harrasement of the poor workers.
Singh warned the PHE administration that if their demands were not conceded by June 15, 2013, the employees would be forced to intensify the second phase of their agitation, which started today.
Prominent leaders who addressed the protestors includes Subhash Verma, Rattan Doshi, Surinder Kumar, Vijay Singh, Babu Singh, Chuni Lal and many others.
