JAMMU, Feb 23: PHE employees and workers held a protest and projected their demands.
PHE employees and workers under the banner of PHE Workers Welfare Association assembled in the premises of Chief Engineer, PHE Department, BC Road and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While speaking, Bakshi Singh, Provincial President of the Association said that the agreement between PHE administration and leaders of PHE workers welfare association on September 3, 2014 has not been implemented till date.
He demanded regularization after 5 years service, regular wages before 5th of every months, release of pending wages, new concrete recruitment policy for any sort of fresh recruitment in PHE Department, conducting of DPC meeting to promote the senior deserving employees of the department, regularization of ITI workers and release of 17 per cent DA.
He appealed to the Governor NN Vohra to intervene in the issues of the PHE employees and workers personally and redress them on priority basis.
Subash Verma, provincial general secretary while addressing the gathering said that the workers are without wages for the last 25 months and the families of these workers are facing many hardships because of financial crisis.  He demanded immediate implementation of the agreement.
Among others present were Rattan Doshi, senior leader of the association, Swarn Singh, Bansi Lal Sharma, Chain Ram, Ajit Singh, Surjeet Singh, Kulbhushan Nanda, Ashok Kumar, Ram Labhay, Baldev Singh, Raju Jamwal, Manzoor Ali and Ram Parkash.
Later, the Association also submitted a reminder to Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Jammu.
