RAJOURI, July 31: A PHE worker was died under mysterious circumstances in Saranu area under Rajouri Police jurisdiction today.
He has been identified the deceased as Jagdish Raj (52), son of Isher Dass, resident of Saranu village. SHO Rajouri, Insp Tahir said Jagdish was found lying unconscious near a PHE pumping station in Saranu area, at some distance from the road with injuries on back side of his head at around 3 pm. The locals noticed him there and informed police.
The police party from Rajouri examined the spot and then shifted him to District Hospital, Rajouri where he succumbed to injuries after some time.
He said the dead body was sent for postmortem and later handed over to the family for last rites after performing legal formalities. He was working under PHE Mechanical Division Nowshera. The police registered a case and started inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC.
