SAMBA, Apr 16: PHE Workers Welfare Association Samba continued its protest on second day today against the Government announcement to retrench the daily wagers appointed after 1994.
Addressing the protestors Gouri Shanker president of the Association demanded that the order be revoked immediately failing which the PHE workers as well as daily wagers will intensify the agitation and the Government will be responsible for consequences. The Association which is on protest in front of District Development Commissioner’s Office at Samba warned to continue dharna till demand is settled.
Shanker demanded regularization of all daily wagers. He said the Association along the families of daily wagers will come to streets in case the order is not revoked. The Association leaders Shakti Singh, Koushal Padha, Mohan Lal and Kuldeep Singh were among other Association leaders who addressed the dharna.
