PHE workers demand release of wages

UDHAMPUR, July 2: Jal Shakti (PHE) Employees and Workers Association has demanded the authorities to release their pending wages and fulfill their other demands.
The demands were raised during a meeting of the Association held at PHE Complex Udhampur under the chairmanship of Vijay Kumar (general secretary, district Udhampur). In the meeting, the members of the Association unanimously criticized the attitude of the concerned PHE higher authority for not paying wages of last 72 months to the employees.
Vijay Kumar sought the intervention of LT Governor Manoj Sinha for release of pending wages of thousands of employees who are suffering for their livelihood and are at the verge of starvation. Other demands highlighted in the meeting include regularization of CP/ITI/Land case workers, implementation of Minimum Wages Act and address shortage of staff.
The Association further demanded that DPC should be conducted at divisional level and provincial level at least 2 times in a year and cases of the SRO 43 lying pending in Chief Office should be cleared immediately otherwise the workers have to choose the path of confrontation.
