JAMMU, May 7: All J&K PHE, ITI Trained and CP Workers Association held a protest and projected their demands.
Large number of casual labour, ITI and CP workers of PHE Department assembled in front of Chief Engineer Officer, BC Road and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Addressing the protestors, Tanveer Hussain, president of the association expressed anguish over the false promises of the previous Government made to the 26,000 casual labours working in the PHE Department.
“Number of committees and sub-committees were framed by the Government to resolve our long pending demands, but every time our files seems gathering dust in the Secretariat. Such moves of prevision Government were merely eye-wash”, he alleged.
He stated that the new coalition Government framed high power committee for the budget but did not bother about the plight of casual labours, adding that no funds or money has been sanctioned for the regularization and wages of the daily wagers and CP workers.
“We submitted our demands to the Finance Department. The high power committee should refer to them and make their decision regarding the matter”, he added.
The association served an ultimatum of Government to solve the issues before May 20 failing to which the workers of organization will launch “Kaam Chhoro Hartal” in both Jammu as well as Kashmir region.
Among others present were vice president Deepak Gupta, general secretary Subash Chander, advisor, Kulbhushan Singh and district presidents namely Manjeet Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Jeevan Singh, Gopal Singh, Parveen Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Ajay Samillya, Tilak Raj, Romy Verma, etc.
