SAMBA, Feb 8: To highlight their long pending demands of regularization and release of pending salaries the PHE employees held protest demonstrations at Samba and Mendhar in Poonch district today. The demonstrations was held under the banner of United Front at Samba.
At Samba the protest was led by Kulbhusan Singh and Sham Lal members of the Front. The workers also disrupted water supply for 24 hours since Friday and warned to continue disruption of water supply if demands were not met. The protestors are demanding regularization and release of pending salaries for last five years.
The Front leaders in an appeal urged the Lt Governor, G C Murmu that the CP workers be regularised immediately and the pending wages be also released.
The PHE workers of Mendhar Sub Division in Poonch district also held a strong protest in support of their demands. The employees under the banner of Water Works (PHE) Employees Association led by Zulfkar Ahmed Khan assembled in front of PHE Office Mendhar and held a massive demonstration. The workers from Mendhar, Balakote and Mankote as well as other places participated in the protest. They shouted slogans in support of their demands and against the authorities.
