PHE workers protest for regularization, release of wages

REASI, July 9: Under the banner of PHE Employees United Front, Jal Shakti Department daily wagers, who are on indefinite strike since June 22 last, today held strong protest demonstration outside Mini Secretariat Reasi.
They were demanding regularisation of the daily rated workers, enhancement of minimum wages as per Central law in J&K UT, enhancement of Medical Allowance of the employees and workers, release of pending wages of 70 months of PHE workers.
A large number of PHE/Jal Shakti Department daily wage workers assembled at Chowk Chabutra from where a protest march was taken out. The protest march passed through main bazar of Reasi town amid raising of slogans in support of the long pending demands and also against the J&K UT Administration.
Prominent citizens of Reasi also joined the protest and addressed the gathering criticizing the Government for not addressing the pending issues of the employees including daily rated/CP workers. Later on higher officials from administration reached the spot and pacified the protesters.
