JAMMU, June 15: PHE workers today held a strong protest demonstration here today and gave 15 days’ ultimatum to the State authorities to address their pending issues or face strong agitation again.
A large number of PHE employees, under the banner of  PHE Workers Welfare Association (Jammu Province) led by Bakshi Singh president and Subhash Verma ( general secretary) assembled in the office complex of  Chief Engineer PHE at BC Road near bus stand here and started protest demonstration  in the morning. They were shouting slogans in support of their pending demands.

The protesting workers also raised slogans against the Chief Engineer PHE,  concerned Minister and  the State Government. They alleged that Govt was deliberately causing delay in mitigating their sufferings.  They pointed out that despite assurance on the floor of the State legislature during budget session, the State Govt has again failed to fulfill its commitment.
While addressing gathering, Bakshi Singh  and Subhash Verma said that the employees are protesting for the last several, years demanding their regularisation,   completion biometric process, enhancement of their wages, realse of pending wages for the last about three years and withdrawal of impugned  order No. 227 of dated 08-06-2010.
They alleged that Govt has been harassing the PHE employees by issuing new circulars again and again regarding regularization of workers . They urged upon the Commission PHE, Irrigation   and Flood Control Department to take necessary measures in this regard. They warned the authorities and said if the demands were not addressed within 15 days, the workers will be forced to resume the suspended agitation.
Chuni Lal, Surjit Singh, Kuldip Sharma, Rajinder Kumar and Bansi Lal also addressed the gathering.
