PHEEA seeks release of 52 months’ wages

UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: The PHE Employees Association (PHEEA) has urged upon the State authorities to release the pending wages of 52 months of the daily wagers and other temporary workers of the PHE department.
In a meeting of the Association held here under the leadership of Som Nath, president PHEEA and district president INTUC, the speakers strongly criticized the PHE authorities for their failure of release the wages of the hapless workers. They alleged that workers and their families have been left to face starvation.
Som Nath while addressing the large meeting of the workers at PHE complex Udhampur, strongly condemned the attitude of the higher authorities in the department. He alleged that despite many representations, protests and dharnas by the employees and their leaders, the authorities at the helm of affairs have failed to release their wages. He said if the demands of the employees were not met within two weeks they will be forced to intensify their struggle.
He demanded implementation of SRO-520, remove shortage of staff, enhance Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month, hold DPC meeting shortly and stop discrimination with employees of Jammu region. Vijay Sharma, Suraj Parkash, Dinesh Kesar, Krishan Chand, Baldev Raj and others also spoke on the occasion.
