REASI, May 17: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar, today paid a surprise visit to the office of Deputy Director Forest Protection Force (FPF) and found a number of employees absent from their duties.
He directed Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi to conduct an inquiry into unauthorized absence of officials and initiate disciplinary proceedings against the erring officials.
Deputy Commissioner has directed the concerned heads to maintain punctuality and discipline in their offices and warned that strict action will be taken against the absentees.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), inaugurated the photograph-based Yatra Registration system at Ransoo, the base camp of Shiv Khori Shrine Board here today.
DDC informed that under this new system the Shrine Board authorities would be in a position to have accurate details of pilgrims with their full particulars like name, addresses and photographs. He said that this photo-identity based system is an extremely important step taken by the Board towards the improving yatra security.
Mahesh Sharma (DTO) Executive Officer SSKSB informed that with this new registration system in place the pilgrims will not have to wait in long queues as large number of counters would be set up for issuing Yatra Access Card.
