JAMMU, July 25: Physically Challenged persons here today staged a protest demonstration demanding resumption of their pensions which were stopped by the concerned authorities few months back.
The protesters came from Kathua, Samba and far flung areas to highlight their demand.
They said that earlier the Government had assured them to hike their Rs. 1000 pension but nothing was done in this regard.
“We face a lot of problems in moving but still we have joined the protest for our rights and the authorities concerned should resolve our issue at the earliest,” a protester said.
Leaders of the protesters said that if pension amount is not credited to their accounts by July 31 then they will start aggressive protest from August 1, 2023 at the offices of the concerned officers.
