India having been stressing upon promoting carbon neutral environment , spreading and promoting ”green” , use of more electricity produced by green energy sources and minimum dependence on fossil fuels, therefore, green hydrogen plants are the requirements . Ladakh , on the other hand, going to have a distinct place in the country in promoting green technology, one more step in that direction has recently been taken in the shape of the proposed setting up of two pilot green hydrogen technologies. The cost factor being of no less import, therefore, such technologies besides bestowed with being echo friendly are cheap cost wise than conventional fuels hence need to be widely promoted. Therefore, with such a type of stress upon and promoting green technology , we are poised to see Ladakh taking a lead in replacing traditional fuel fossils and adopting clean energy available options.
The Prime Minister’s vision to see Ladakh “carbon neutral” can become more bright with taking steps like the one under reference of setting up green hydrogen projects. National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPCL) which is going to set up the proposed 2 hydrogen projects was also to prepare a detailed blue print hydrogen based energy for Ladakh. The threat to climate change due to excessive carbon emission cannot be taken lightly and Ladakh already facing the same hence every effort needs to be made in promoting green energy and more of carbon neutral projects must be set up.
