Pir Panchal holds 9th mega cultural event at Bhatni

RAMBAN, Nov 27: A mega cultural event was held at village Bhatni in Ramban district a far-flung area of the Jammu region today. Tehsildar and Magistrate, Harveer Singh was the chief guest. This was the 9th mega cultural event in the Pir Panchal range of the UT spread over nine districts. Twenty artists from different areas participated in the festival including four renowned artists of the UT.
Headmaster, Abdul Majid a well known social worker, Naib Tehsildar of the area, Sarpanch and Panches were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Ramesh Hangloo president, Pir Panchal a Cultural, Educational, Social, Environmental and Sports Organisation (CESES) presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Harveer Singh, tehsildar highly acclaimed the programme and complimented the efforts of Pir Panchal for holding such camps in far off regions in Jammu & Kashmir and promoting and propagating local culture, language, music, dance besides giving the sense of belonging to the people. He said there are lot of challenges for the youth like drug abuse and antisocial elements. This cultural camp will help to educate the youth and encourage them for living a better and dignified life.
Speaking on the occasion president Pir Panchal, Ramesh Hangloo asked the youth to be vigilant against anti national elements. He said on 26/11 India has suffered a militant attack in Mumbai so it is a binding duty on us to be alert and vigilant in future not to give antinational elements any scope of doing such acts.
“Although the situation in the UT has remarkably improved but our vigilant behavior will always help us to identify the inimical forces”.
Headmaster and social worker, Abdul Majid said that this is the first of its activity in this hilly belt and the Pir Panchal deserves kudos for this.
Adarsh Anand secretary, Pir Panchal gave vote of thanks and stage was managed by Girdari Lal a renowned flutist and singer of Pir Panchal region. The prominent artists were Ashok Hans, Jeevan Lal Pahadi, Abay Ram and Girdari Lal.
