JAMMU, Mar 31: A cultural programme was organized by Pir Panchal at Shadra Radio here today in which school children from different areas of Jammu participated.
The programme was chaired by president, Pir Panchal Ramesh Hangloo. The children recited poems and also participated in story telling competition in Kashmiri.
The main objective of the programme was to continue link of the migrant children with their mother tongue Kashmiri, said Ramesh Hangloo.
He said Pir Panchal is organizing such programmes from time to time to maintain a link of the children with their culture and mother tongue. He urged the children and youth to continue conversing with their parents and elders in their families in Kashmiri and also urged the parents to encourage their children to talk in Kashmiri –one of the ancient languages of India, which represents a rich culture and civilization and has its deep roots in Sanskrit.
The programme among others was attended by Manoj Jad, Vijay Kaul, Rajesh Khar, Manmohan Wazir and Anju Raina.
