RAMBAN, Aug 29: A cultural event was organized by Pir Panchal a cultural, social and sports organization at village Bralla, Panchayat Chachawa, B Sangaldan in Ramban district. A large number of locals from adjoining villages participated in the function.
DDC chairperson, Ramban, Dr Shamshad Shan was the chief guest and BDC, chairperson Sangaldan Naveda Begum and Sarpanch Chachawa B, Sardar Ali were the guests of honour. Twenty seven local artists participated and enthralled the audience with their performance.
Dr Shamshad Shan, DDC Chairperson, assured full support to Pir Panchal in promotion of local culture and language. She said it is the great occasion and vision of organization to select a village in far -flung area of district and to work for the youth. She also asked the youth to be vigilant against the evils and carry forward the great values of elders and to remain connected with the roots. She said villages should be the focus of all activities which will make the State progressive.
Speaking on the occasion, Pir Panchal president ,Ramesh Hangloo described the event as historical in such a remote area of UT. He said his organization wants to reach out remote and far flung areas to exploit the talent of youth in these areas so that their energies can be channalised for betterment of the country and people and announced to work for promotion of art, culture and language in all 11 districts of Pir Panchal area to keep younger generation connected to their roots. He asked the youth to be vigilant against the social evils such as drug addiction etc.
BDC chairperson Sangaldan and Sarpanch Chachawa B also complimented the Pir Panchal for orgnising such a programme in this far -flung and remote areas and expressed the hope that they will continue such efforts in future too.
The programme was conducted by renowned artists Girdhari Lal, and it was among others attended by K K Koul, Vijay Koul, Adarsh Anand and Mahesh Kotwal. The vote of thanks was proposed by Girdhari Lal who assured Pir Panchal full cooperation in future such programmes.
