Pir Panchal organizes cultural event at Ukhral

RAMBAN, Apr 30: Pir Panchal a socio-cultural organization organized a mega heritage cum cultural event at Ukhral in Pogal Paristan area of Ramban district today in which Iqbal Nissar tehsildar was the chief guest while Kuldeep Singh Bali, Chairman Block Development Committee was the guest of honour.
Terath Singh Bali, Sarpanch, Mohammad Iqbal Katoch, Sarpanch and Ashok Hans renowned singer of North India were the guests of honour.
In his address Javed Nisar said the Pir Panchal deserves Kudos for organizing cultural programmes in the far-flung areas of Ramban and Reasi districts. He asked the youth to take part in such social programmes in large numbers and be vigilant against the drug abuse and other similar anti social activities.
BDC chairman, Kuldeep Singh Bali said there is need to promote the ancient culture of J&K and link the youth to their roots and old culture. He stressed on preservation of language and culture while cautioning the youth about the increasing drug menace.
In the event 20 artists performed in different languages including Pogli, Banhali, Dogri, Hindi, Rambandi and Pahari. They enthralled the participants.
Ramesh Hangloo, president, Pir Panchal asked the youth to be careful against the onslaught on their language and culture. He said the people of this belt have been nationalists to the core and they have to be cautious against the elements trying to harm the national cause.
Sarpanches of the area also spoke on the occasion and declared that they will dedicate themselves to the cause and work shoulder to shoulder with Pir Panchal in holding such programmes in this far flung area in future also.
The programme was compared by Girdhari Lal a renowned flutist and vote of thanks was presented by Vijay Koul, general secy Pir Panchal.
