KISHTWAR, May 19: Police here today booked two most wanted notorious narcotic peddlers under PITNDPS and lodged them in District Jail Kishtwar.
The peddlers—Moomin Kamal, son of Asgar Ali Kamal, resident of Kamal Mohalla and Ajaz Ahmed, son of Khushi Mohammad, resident of Sirgwari Thakrie, were kingpins supplying drugs to the youth in Kishtwar town.
Their involvement in numerous drug peddling cases was uncovered during investigations, necessitating their detention under PSA (PITNDPS) to curb their activities and to protect the youth of Kishtwar from narco-addiction.
After obtaining PSA orders, SSP Kishtwar constituted two special teams under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta to arrest these notorious drugs peddlers from different locations in Kishtwar. They were subsequently lodged in District Jail Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar informed that District Police Kishtwar is working on a comprehensive strategy to tackle drug abuse.
He requested the general public to report any information related to the sale and consumption of drugs by calling the helpline number 9906154100, 9103454100 or through the Kishtwar Police Facebook page and twitter handle and the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
