JAMMU, Aug 23: The Political Affairs Committee of Panun Kashmir which met here today discussed challenging political situation in the State.
The meeting was chaired by Prof M L Raina chairman PAC and among others it was attended by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president PK, Virender Riana its national spokesperson, Upinder Kaul, general secretary and Kamal Bhagati, organizing secretary.
The meeting expressed concern over happenings at Haal, Pulwama in Kashmir valley.
Mr Chrungoo gave a brief of his efforts to bring the community’s concerns on the issue before the police administration of Kashmir, NHRC, Union Home Secretary and Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs.
He said the political scenario in the State is being deliberately vitiated by the agent provocateurs and surrogate elements supported and sponsored by Pakistan establishment. The indictment of Pakistan by West on the issue of terrorism has seriously damaged the position of the State of Pakistan among the comity of nations. The internal dissentions within Pakistan have further aggravated Pakistan’s approach towards India. In a situation where the West considers Pakistan an epicenter of global terrorism, Pakistan’s internal as well as external policies have made it a safe heaven for the fugitives, terrorists and rough elements. In fact it has turned Pakistan a rouge State, he added.
He said in such a situation India has to be prepared for any eventuality. The statement of the arrested terrorist Tunda about his links with Hamid Gul former ISI chief and Gul’s statement regarding his closeness with Hafiz Sayeed an international terror icon speaks volumes about Pakistan’s complicity in terrorism.
He said GOI under these circumstances needs a serious re-look in this entire gamut of relations with Pakistan not to say of Summit meeting alone.
