JAMMU, June 29: Panun Kashmir (PK) expressed its appreciation of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah regarding certain important decisions about the displaced Pandit community of Kashmir. The meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of P K resolved to fully support the Home Minister’s statement given on the floor of the Parliament that Art-370 is a “temporary provision” in the Constitution of India.
PK’s PAC meeting was held at here, today to respond to some important measures of the Central Government about J &K. The meeting was chaired by Prof. M.L.Raina, adviser and attended among others by Virender Raina, president, PK, Upinder Kaul, its general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org.), Dr. Ritu Bakshi, vice chairperson-DoPK, Vimla Chrungoo, secretary-DoPK, Sameer Bhat, convener-P K Youth and Ashok Chrungoo, treasurer.
Prof. M.L.Raina said that the expression of the Home Minister in the Lok Sabha is a statement of truth and most heartening and PK says that the Article 370 has to go eventually and the time is now. This Article was instrumental in creating alienation in a section of Kashmiri Muslim population and encouraged Pakistan to sponsor terrorism in the State, he added.
Virender Raina in his speech said that Amit Shah’s statement that ‘terrorism would be crushed in Kashmir’ is in accordance with the right strategy that the country needs to follow. “Terror and talks can’t go together” and policy has paid dividends as Pakistan is virtually isolated and bankrupt and is begging for talks.
K Ps, the indigenous people of Kashmir, have been the worst victims of the Pak-sponsored terrorism resulting in the KP genocide, ethnic cleansing and exodus. It is about time to make a comprehensive plan for their permanent settlement in Kashmir in accordance with their wishes and aspirations as per the Maargdarshan Resolution of 1991. Pandits have complete faith in the abilities of Amit Shah as the Home Minister to deliver a mortal blow to the sponsors of terror and mayhem and rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits in their abode of more than 5000 years.
The decision of the UNHRC to drop “Kashmir” from the regular reporting is also a welcome decision so is also the decision of the UNSC to offer non-permanent Security Council seat to India through the Asia-Pacific Group.
Upinder Kaul said that P K also expresses gratitude to BJP for raising the issue of “Special Crimes Tribunal” with the Home Minister during his visit to the valley of Kashmir.
