JAMMU, May 8: Panun Kashmir (PK) led by its president, Vijay Bhat today lambasted former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), president, Mehbooba Mufti for advocating ceasefire between terrorists and security forces during Ramzan.
In a meeting held here convenor of PK, Ravinder Jalali termed it a ruse and mischievous which is aimed at to facilitate only terrorists and separatists to consolidate so that they are able to launch fresh attack on security forces. He said that while observing ceasefire last year, nothing fruitful or significant has been achieved, so why to repeat same mistake.
Jalali said Mehbooba has also advocated that search operations in J&K should be stopped for the holy month of Ramzan “so that people of the State have at least a month of relief”. Why she is saying only one month relief and why she is not interested in permanent relief Jalali asked?.
Mehbooba also made an appeal to the militants to reciprocate and not make any attacks during the month of Ramzan. “I would also like to appeal to the militants that Ramzan is a month of worship and prayers. They should not make any attacks during this time,” PK said while quoting Mehbooba Mufti. PK leader said why she is not appealing the terrorist to unilaterally declare ceasefire and leaving the gun for the greater good of the people of Valley?
Jalali said that it was further observed that PDP or the separatists and Hurriyat are just the Over Ground Workers (OGW) of militants and Government should not fall prey to such a malicious advice of PDP which is nothing more than the arm of separatists and is just to fulfil their agenda. Such ceasefire will amount to just like a fixed match between Government and terrorists and the Government should not do this blunder for which it had to pay a heavy price like past. Moreover it will be suicidal for the security forces to declare ceasefire, Jalali added.
It has been observed whenever India has mounted pressure on Pakistan, terrorists and separatists and when the terrorists are on run, Kashmiri leaders come to their rescue by such malicious designs and advice. Some times they advocate Indo-Pak talks as if they represent the Pakistan.
He said Mehbooba must remember that if the people of Valley want to remain in peace, no body can disturb them despite all the efforts made by Pakistan. The fact of the matter is that there are some mainstream politicians as well as separatists who do not want peace in the Valley lest their shops will be closed.
