PK rejects dialogue process, terms homeland community mantra

JAMMU, Dec 28: Rejecting the dialogue process with forces preaching violence, separatism and fundamentalism the Panun Kashmir (PK) in its one day national convention here today demanded that the dialogue process should be stopped forth with.
In this connection a resolution was passed which stressed that a new process aiming to create peace that strengthens the national sovereignty and secular nation building be evolved.
Expressing its dismay over the so-called peace process, the PK said that it has failed on all fronts as it could not deter the successive Governments in Pakistan from carrying on State sponsored terrorism against India.
The convention which, among others was addressed by PK chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo, veteran freedom fighter and member advisory PK ON Trisal, eminent scholar Shashi Shekhar Toshkhani, Sunil Pandita from a social activist, President Bar Association Jammu B S Salathia, Prof Hari Om and Mahesh Koul a research scholar adopted seven resolutions.
Through another resolution it urged the Government to evolve a policy on return and rehabilitation that is based on comprehensive reversal of the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus. It said the return process that sans the reversal of genocide, harbors the seeds of second destabilization Kashmiri Hindus is not acceptable at any cost. Such process instead will deepen the attrition and the squeeze the community, it added.
The creation of separate homeland on North East of River Jehlum in Kashmir valley as per the Margdarshan resolution was reiterated by the KPs through a voice vote for their permanent settlement.
Justifying the demand the resolution said since the forced exodus of Hindus it has been witnessed that the grip of communal and exclusive forces in Kashmir has widened and become more intense.
The PK stressed on three child norm as a minimum imperative necessity for a family so that the community is able to sustain its number and not evaporate into extinction.
Justifying the resolution passed in this regard, PK chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo termed the one child norm self destructive and suicidal.
Through another resolution stress was given on social reforms and making of community functions simple and economical. Stressing on making a realization among the children of the community so that they take the responsibility of becoming part and parcel of the community, the resolution said that children should be made to understand that their better and professional education was the result of community struggle.
Maintaining that KPS are seriously concerned about the condition of the camp dwellers and relief holders, a solemn pledge was taken through yet another resolution that entire community stands at their back.
In his address Dr Ajay Chrungoo said there was no alternative except homeland. He said PK is not a slogan but a mantra. “It is know your self and strength”.
On the occasion Prof B L Koul and Prof M L Koul were felicitated by PK. The resolutions were read by Sunil Bhat, Ajay Khosa, Sunil Raina, S K Kitchloo. A cultural programme was presented by students of various schools on the occasion which was coordinated by Opinder Ambardar.
The programme was coordinated by PK general secretary Kuldeep Raina and Daya Krishan Koul general secretary.
