JAMMU, Aug 12: The leaders of Panun Kashmir (PK) handed over a memorandum for onwards submission to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to former Union Minister and presently MP from Gautam Budh Nagar UP, Dr Mahesh Sharma during an interactive session held by him at Noida, UP today.
Besides, the leaders of PK , representatives of Daughters of Vitasta a Women Wing of PK, KMWA, Noida, Kashmir Samiti Delhi and Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) were present in the programme.
In the memorandum the PK said that Kashmiri Pandits worst sufferers of three decade long terrorism in Valley do not have enough words to express the community’s gratitude to the commitment exhibited by BJP and resolute leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
It said the decisive and an extraordinary bold move on the subject has made something possible – that a common Indian was unfortunately made to believe, for nearly seven decades, is impossible to achieve. “Modi hai to Mumkin Hai”!
This historic move has torn apart the cage of Article 370, through a swift constitutional process, that erstwhile State of J&K had been put in. The cage held people of the State, in particular, Kashmiri Pandits, people in two other major regions of the State i.e. Jammu and Ladakh virtually in hostage condition for decades. Now, all the State subjects of J&K and Ladakh have every reason to feel happy about the much needed move. Similarly, every other Indian from Kashmir to Kanyakumari; from Kibithu to Gohar-moti should feel happy and proud of the fact that they have been freed from the psychological and legal barrier that distanced Kashyap’s valley from rest of India, it added.
It said P K believes, the historic move is one more concrete step towards strengthening the vision of “Ek Bharat, Shresht Bharat” under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi.
It while congratulating the country men in general and BJP leadership in particular for this bold decision said the cage is broken, buried deep in the dustbin of history; Ladakh and its people given their rightful due in the form of a separate Union Territory. A solid foundation has been laid to correct a historical wrong. However, P K realises, many more challenges lay ahead and “we ‘have miles to go”. Kashmiri Pandit community, currently in 30th year of its seventh forced exodus (having faced physical, cultural and literary genocide from centuries, ever since the advent of Islam in the Valley in early 14th century), is eager to realise its legitimate dream of reclaiming lost roots in their ancestral homeland (nourished by our illustrious ancestors, including Lalitaditya, Abhinavagupta, Kshemendra, Kalhana, Bilhana, Lad Ded and many more) as per their aspirations. “We seek your indulgence in fulfillment of our rightful claim as enunciated in historical ‘Margdarshan Resolution’ adopted by the community in exile, at a two day convention in Jammu on December 28, 1991; aptly summed up in the slogan “Kashmir mai’n Bharat kee tasvir, Panun Kashmir, Panun Kashmir”.
The signatories to the memorandum included Dr Shakti Bhan, chairperson Daughters of Vitasta, Vijay Tikoo, vice chairman PK and Ramesh Manvati, vice president PK.
