JAMMU, May 25: A Placement Drive which was launched by Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions at IECS and North Polytechnics located at Purkhoo Camp, Jammu on May 11, 2015 concluded successfully after a fortnight of multiple placement sessions.
The drive which was initially scheduled to last for one week, had to be extended by another week due to the overwhelming response from various placement agencies and a number of other companies involved in manufacturing, software, marketing, Automoblie and infrastructural sectors.
Prominent among the companies which visited the Purkhoo Campus of Jamwal Group of Educational Institution included U-Flex, Synergy consultant recruiters for  (Pepsi, Sudhir Gensets, Kirloskar, Coca-cola, Hindustan Pencils) Yatha Consultants & Engineers, Simula Software Pvt. Ltd., Hyundai, Shree Toyota, Jamkash Vehicles, Tata Motors, IL & FS Skills, Accenture and Roman Technologies.
The students studying in 6th Semester of the 3-year Diploma Courses in various branch as also those studying for BCA and MCA courses participated in various sessions of this placement drive including written tests, group discussions and personal interviews conducted by various companies. Besides the students of North Polytechnic and IECS, the aspirants from many other institutions of the region enthusiastically appeared in the placement process. These institutions included IMS, Jammu, Govt. Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Govt. Polytechnic for Women Shivnagar, Govt. Polytechnic Reasi, Govt. Polytechnic Poonch, KCS Polytechnic, Roop Nagar and NITS Polytechnic, Miran Sahib.
Er. Vidhi S.Singh Jamwal, Chairman, Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions spoke on the occasion and Er. Ajay Jamwal, Dean Administration, Training and Placement presented vote of thanks.
According to Mr. Jamwal, more than three hundred job aspirants from various institutions took part in the drive and out of these more than one hundred and fifty students have been selected for placement. Some of the students were handed over the selection letters on spot while cases of others are under process.
Prof. K.R Sharma and Prof. K.G. Gupta Principals of North Polytechnic and IECS expressed the hope that the drive is not the end of Placement process and this will continue in the next couple of months to ensure placement of remaining students so that there is no un-employment among the polytechnic pass outs.
