JAMMU, Mar 21: The five-day Plasma Exhibition, organized by IIT Jammu in collaboration with the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR) from Gandhi Nagar and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), concluded successfully today.
The event offered students, educators, and researchers a rare opportunity to interact with 25 advanced plasma experiments, showcasing its applications in energy, electronics, space exploration, and medicine.
Over 1,500 students and educators from schools and colleges across the Jammu region visited the exhibition, experiencing live plasma demonstrations.
Additionally, a Teacher Training Program was conducted, where 30 science teachers gained valuable insights into plasma science and innovative teaching methods.
The exhibition also highlighted the ongoing plasma research at IIT Jammu, particularly through the Shivalik Plasma Laboratory, which is actively working on cutting-edge projects and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
At the valedictory session, scientists from IPR, IIT Jammu faculty, and student volunteers shared their experiences, reflecting on the success of the event.
Dr Sanat Kumar Tiwari, Faculty at IIT Jammu and Convener of the exhibition, thanked everyone involved in making the event a success.
The session concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for the student volunteers who played a key role in its smooth execution.
This initiative, in line with NEP 2020, successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, inspiring curiosity and scientific exploration among students and educators alike.
