I would like to request Finance Minister to consider long pending demand of removal of pay anomalies of Sub-Inspectors of Excise & Taxation Department. It is pertinent to mention here that the issue of removal of pay anomalies have been raised many times with all the concerned authorities by various departmental associations and social workers, but for the last many years nothing except assurances has been done on this most genuine case.
The demand is very simple and justified that the sub-inspectors of Excise and Commercial Taxes should also get pay equal to their counterparts in Police Department and also all other allowances etc. It is painful to say that the Sub-Inspector of Finance Department is getting pay scale of Police Head Constables only.
No two and half day extra pay is given to Excise Department when the Sub-Inspectors work day and night on various check posts throughout the State and earn crores of rupees as tax for the Govt. Being placed in same rank and same circumstances the “Scale of natural justice demand that the Excise/Taxation Sub-Inspectors be placed in pay, grade and facilities at par with Sub-Inspectors of Police. It is hoped from the present State Govt that justice will be done with this cadre of Low Paid Employees as the Govt is working on the principle of justice for all, so will the Finance Minister be kind enough to remove pay anomalies of Excise Sub-Inspectors which has remained main demand throughout this years.
