Plea to appoint staff at Latti PHC

UDHAMPUR, May 25: The Sarpanches from Dudu and Latti area have urged the District Administration and the Director Health Services Jammu to appoint adequate technical and other staff at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Latti which is catering to the need of entire remote Dudu Sub Division in the district.
The Panchayat members said that PHC Latti is the only hospital in the area which serves the purpose of a population of over 60,000 souls. It needs upgradation to CHC level. There is X-Ray machine but no Technician placed at the PHC. There was no 24- hour power back up in the hospital, no generator and electrician posted till date. Against the posts of three doctors, only one was in place. They demanded Ultrasound machine, oxygen cylinders, ECG facility, Ambu bags, Nebulizers, Monitors, suction machine, concentrators and posting of adequate staff at the hospital.
They also forcefully took up the issue of road condition from Mantalai to Latti and Dudu with the DC, Indu Kanwal Chib, who visited Latti tehsil the other day to redress the problems of public during lock down in this far -flung area. The Sarpanches narrated the miserable condition of road from Man Talai to Dudu and alleged that it was never fully black topped during last 44 years. The DC assured that she would ensure speedy repair/maintenance of this road and posting of adequate staff at the hospital.
