Plea to Deputy Commissisoner

Sir,
As the festivals of Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtmi are approaching young boys can be seen on the roofs of homes, flying kites of different sizes and colours. Kite flying is popular in Jammu district during the festival of Raksha Bandhan. People of all ages enjoy the kite-flying. But now-a-days most of the people use plastic dor or “gattu” or manjha for flying bites. This plastic dor is dangerous as it leads to many accidents of two wheelers and people walking on roads. Apart from this, birds also fall prey to this dor, leading to serious injuries and deaths in many causes.
The District Administration Jammu is well aware of these aderse affects of kite flying, so the plastic dor is banned across the city. But still it is sold and used by kite flyers in Jammu. So it is urged to the concerned authorities to do the needful to save the birds and bike riders from this deadly plastic dor.
