Plight of old age people

Sir,
This is in reference to news item DE, dated 10-04-13 in connection with above subject.
Firstly, it is a matter of delight that article ‘Plight of Jammu Vridh Ashram’ by Prof V.S. Verma published in this newspaper has been treated as a Public Interest Litigation and the State through its arms Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department and others have been made respondents in the case. In fact, the article has lucidly touched the conscience of all right thinking people and this important matter should not have escaped the attention by one and all, hitherto.
Undoubtedly, by responding promptly to the petition made by way of the article, the Division Bench of State High Court has done great justice to the most genuine and humane cause which has kindled hopes in meeting respectable life to ill fated inmates of Ashram as also to their care providers who are presently rendering services on an extremely low salary structure (ranging Rs 200 to Rs 500 pm and Rs 5 for diet, medicine etc. per day) due to lack of required support by Govt and society.
Further, the Govt must come forward wholeheartedly and provide support to all those who are engaged in the noble mission and at the same time deal sternly with  those who are shirking their responsibility towards their old age parents at the fag end of their life by invoking various provisions of law.
Yours etc….
