The book was released in the presence of Joginder Chatarpal, president, Dogri Sanstha, Dr Lalit Magotra and intellectuals, writers, artists working in different fields, art lovers as well as other members of civil society.
Welcoming the audience, Devinder Singh Vishvanagrik, president of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, said that the organization is committed to the cause of the promotion of Punjabi language in the region. He added that the libraries in the schools and in private sector should come forward to acquire Punjabi books of the local writers preferably of those who do not get any subsidy from any agency for the publication of their books.
Dr Raj Kumar Behrupia recited select poems from the book, depicting the tone and spirit of the poetry. Papers were read by Dr Nitu Arora and Dr Mamta Rani on the book ‘Sifar Ton Agge’ where the poetry of Dr Monojit was critically evaluated by these scholars.
While speaking on this occasion, Sukhwinder Singh said that the poetry of Dr Monojit is entirely different from his other satirical writings. He said that the poetry should convey itself easily to the listener or reader through symbols, similes and imagery and this quality has been maintained by Dr Monojit in his poetry.
Dr Arvinder Amn said that the silence of the poet during his early life days seem to be leaking in satirical writings but the present book is a different kind of look of his personality.
During the function, All Artists Welfare Association Jammu (AAWAJ) felicitated Dr Monojit.
