PLS releases Punjabi Books

JAMMU, Aug 21: A function was organized by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) Jammu today to release two books titled ‘Khoj’–a collection of articles and ‘Muaavza’–a collection of short stories written in Punjabi by Pritam Singh Anjaan.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presided over the function. Former Legislator and senior BJP leader Vikram Randhawa was the guest of honour. The function was attended by a large number of intellectuals, writers, scholars of the University and the general public.
Two analytical evaluation papers were presented by Kusam Sandhu and Harpreet Kour. The papers delved deep on the issues, concerns and other literary values reflected in the articles and short stories of Pritam Singh Anjaan.
Dr Monojit, President PLS extended formal welcome to the dignitaries and the guests.
Dr Monojit in his address gave a brief of the activities and contribution of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha in the field of Punjabi literature of Jammu and Kashmir as well the mainstream Punjabi literary circles. He appreciated that a retired army man is contributing in the field of literature.
In his presidential address, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn emphasized on the content and qualitative values of the released two Punjabi books of Pritam Singh Anjaan. He said that the book ‘Khoj’ discusses various issues related the life of the commoners. He stressed upon the need of using mother tongue at home so that it acquires to the next generation.
Pritam Singh Anjaan expressed his views on his thought and creative process, and also read out two of his mini stories.
Vikram Randhawa, political leader, Sarup Singh and other speakers also expressed their views on this occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, General Secretary, PLS- J.
Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, former president of PLS-J extended the vote of thanks.
