JAMMU, July 29: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Forum held a meeting under the chairmanship of its Ramnagar unit president Shiv Dev Singh and discussed various issues of the teaching community and problems being faced by the lecturers community in remote areas.
While speaking, Shiv Dev Singh expressed concern over the shortage of lecturer in remote areas of tehsil Ramnagar. At GHSS Ramnagar, there is shortage of staff members, he said, adding that on one hand Government is demanding quality education from the teachers/lecturers and on the other hand does not provide adequate staff.
He said that there is no lecturer to teach Commerce and Sanskrit subjects in GHSS Ramnagar, adding that education being a vast department needs visionary schemes and policies.
Singh said that in some schools the roll of the students is below 100 and there are two or three lecturers, but on the other hand there are also some schools, where the roll of the students is more that 200 or 300 and there is no lecturer at all.
He also added that mid-day meal schemes must be stopped and instead of providing meal to the students, the Government should provide scholarship to the students, so that they can purchase nutrients food to raise their health standard.
Singh urged the Education Minister and MLA Ramnagar to look into the issues and redress the same on the priority basis.
