UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: The district unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum urged the Government to expedite the process of regularization of the incharge incumbents in the School Education Department.
In a meeting of the Forum held here today under the chairmanship of its president, Ashok Sharma, the speakers said that many incharge incumbents including Joint Directors/SIE Principals, CEOs/DIET Principals, Principals of HSS Schools, ZEOs, Headmasters, lecturers and dropout lecturers have been awaiting their regularization for years together.
The speakers also expressed concern over the existence of large no of vacancies of different cadres of the teaching and non-teaching staff in various schools and demanded that these vacancies be filled up at the earliest. They also demanded early adjustment of newly selected lecturers to fill up the large no. of vacancies in the schools and engagement of PG candidates in various subjects in all the schools till the vacancies are filled up.
They rued that issuance of piecemeal orders of transfers of various cadres has caused widespread resentment in the teaching fraternity and demanded that all transfers orders be issued in accordance with the Transfer Policy and during breaks. They demanded uploading of all transfer orders on the official websites of the department to ensure transparency in transfers at various levels .The speakers also demanded the rechristening of Higher Secondary Schools as Intermediate Colleges.
The speakers also resented that even after the lapse of more than a year and despite highlighting the demand repeatedly, the orders for the sanction of incentives in favour of those Principals, Lecturers, Masters, Teachers etc, who were engaged to run extra classes during the summer vacation last year, have not been issued.
They demanded rationalization of staff in the schools in accordance with the roll and subject need and said that the trainings of the teaching staff be conducted in the summer/winter breaks so that studies of students are not affected. They also demanded that the responsibility for conducting the examinations of 6th, 7th, 8th classes be entrusted to the Complex Heads and not to the incharge clusters.
