Plus 2 Lecturers Forum demands ban on mid-session transfers

UDHAMPUR, Dec 13: The Udhampur unit of All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum organized its monthly meeting, here today, under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, district president and criticized the School Education Department for affecting mid-session transfers.
The meet observed that the recent transfers on the basis of pick and choose policy of some are affecting the studies of the students during the mid session. The Forum demanded complete ban on mid term transfers till the academic session is over.
The participants also demanded that the JKBOSE should take measures such as installation of CCTVs in the Exam halls, deployment of more Vigilance squads, provision of good examination halls, etc to check the menace of copying. They also demanded foolproof security of the Supervisory staff to avoid incidents as happened in Panchari and Vijaypur.
Highlighting other issues, the Forum demanded enhancement of the grade pay of Principals, declaration of their post as non vacational, removal of pay anomaly of lecturers in Physical Education, benefit of Running Pattern in favour of +2 cadre, regularization of all Jt Directors, Chief Education Officers, Principals and lecturers serving in the Incharge capacity in the School Education Department etc for years together and demanded that orders in this respect be issued at the earliest. They also appreciated the Director, School Education, Kashmir for writing a letter to Commissioner/Secretary School Education for inclusion of teachers in J&K’s Warrant of Precedence to attract best talent to the Department and hoped that such a move will restore dignity of the teachers and attract best of minds to the noble profession of teaching.
Besides the district president, others who addressed the meeting  included;  Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar , Rajinder Gupta, Mangat Ram, Pawan Kumar, Shivdev Singh, Dev Raj, Kuldip Singh, Luxmi Kant, Ravi Kanchan, Amrit Lal, Bishan Sharma, Ravinder Kumar, Veerinder Kumar, Rakesh Gupta, Bhim Sein, Karnail Singh and  Rajinder Kumar.
