JAMMU, Sept 10: A UT level monthly meeting of All J&K +2 Lecturers’ Forum was held today on virtual as well as offline mode.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the Forum, R S Salathia and attended by Presidents of Jammu division as well as Kashmir Division, namely Pardeep Singh Rakwal and Shakeel Ahmed, respectively. All District Presidents of JK +2 Lecturers ‘ Forum of all the districts of the UT attended the meeting.
Many issues were discussed threadbare in the meeting but the main focus remained on the regularisation of I/C Lecturers, transfer of Lecturers under ATD 2023 and Grant of ACP.
The speakers from Kashmir urged for immediate regularisation of all incharge Lecturers including those holding PG degrees through distance mode in Science stream in one go putting an end to this long pending issue. Ramesh Padroo spoke in detail on the issue of regularisation of Incharge Lecturers in one go.
On ATD 2023, the speakers namely Tariq Geelani from Kashmir and Pardeep Koul, District President Kishtwar, hoped that necessary modifications would be done for the deserving cases and also keeping in consideration the student interest.
On recent orders of Administrative Department for Principals and Lecturers to include them in teaching two periods a day and 9th and 10th respectively, the speakers said the order for Principals should be revisited because they are already overburdened due to their additional assignments as Clustre Heads, inspections and other allied assignments. As far as additional assignments to Lecturers is concerned, the meeting urged the authorities at the helm of affairs to go for such an arrangement where there is dearth of teaching staff ( Teachers & Masters) or where there is administrative exigency. The meet expressed apprehension that otherwise such a move would cause more harm than benefit for the academic activities of the students as the students may get confused.
The speakers urged the Principal Secretary Education to issue orders for removing the tag of ‘ Lookafter’ from the Principals. They also advocated for providing non- vacational status to Principals.
The meet requested to Principal Secretary SED to issue orders of transfer of Lecturers in remaining subjects to complete the ATD exercise. It also resolved to co-operate the SED for 100 percent implementation of NEP in the interest of students.
