Plus 2 Lecturers Forum holds meet, highlights demands

UDHAMPUR, Mar 27: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers Forum held a meeting which was presided over by its district president Arunesh Kumar.
During the meeting, the speakers urged the Education Minister to take urgent measures for the installation of CCTVs in examination halls to curb the menace of copying in various exams.
They also demanded filling up of vacancies of various cadres in the department by DPC/direct recruitment through PSC so that educational activities in the schools will be carried out smoothly.
Arunesh Kumar while speaking urged the Education Minister to launch an enrollment drive to increase enrollment in the Government schools. He also urged the Minister to declare the year 2015 as year of academic excellence and initiate more steps to achieve excellence in School Education Department in the State.
He demanded that two schools from each district be developed as model schools under pilot project, surveillance of examination halls by CCTVs, preparation of CD of each exam from every centre and submission to the Vigilance Organization and School Education Department in order to curb the menace of copying, preparation and implementation of a comprehensive education policy, rational and transparent transfer policy in the State to improve the standard of education in Government schools and enable students to develop required skills and knowledge to face the competitive challenges of fast changing life.
He assured all cooperation of the Forum to the Government in all efforts aimed at streamlining and improving the system of education in the State.
Among others present were Ashok Sharma, general secretary, Ashwani Kumar, vice president, Mohan Lal, Ram Murti, Joginder Kumar, etc.
