Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum opposes diversion of JD posts to KAS cadre

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 24: An emergency meeting of Central Executives of All J&K Plus-2 Lecturers’ Forum was held today under the chairmanship of its Vice-President Anil Sharma, in which all the members opposed the Government move to divert the posts of Joint Director to the non concerned KAS Cadre as per the recommendation of the Cabinet Sub Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Sharma said that the Cabinet Sub Committee is violating the SRO 481 in which it is clearly mentioned that a person with 3 years service as Joint Director from the Education Department  can be posted as Director School Education on first preference and secondly from IAS/KAS Cadre. But the Cabinet Sub Committee is degrading the dignity and honour of Plus-2 Community even diverting the posts of Joint Director School Education Department illegally and illogically to KAS Cadre which is highly condemnable.
Speaking on the occasion the members apprised that a person  holding the post of Joint Director and even Director School Education should be professionally qualified and well versed with Education Department and only a person from the Education Department having the varied experience can run the Department efficiently by maning the posts of Joint Director and Director, whereas the KAS Officers being non-concerned persons with no knowledge and experience, about the Education Department should not be allowed to experiment with the Education Department. Government is deliberately trying to derail the Education system from the track, he added.
In the meeting it was unanimously decided that +2 community will never tolerate the transgressing of rights of +2 Cadre. The forum has always believed in petitions and submissions but will not hesitate from adapting agitational path if the recommendation of Cabinet Sub Committee is not withdrawn and the Government will itself be responsible for any harm to the teaching learning process.
The forum contended that instead of granting Running Grade Pattern to the +2 Community, the Government is trying to curtail the promotional avenues by restricting their promotion upto Chief Education Officers only.
The Plus 2 Community appealed to all the cadres of the Education Department to come up in the arms to save the dignity and honour of the Department if the said recommendation is not withdrawn at the earliest.
Aman others present were R.S. Salathia, Dr. Sushma, Sanjay Bhagat, N.S. Jamwal, Deepak Sharma, Pardeep Singh and Charan Dass.
