UDHAMPUR, Apr 13: A meeting of the District unit of J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held today under the chairmanship of Arunesh Kumar, district president of the Forum, to highlight burning demands of Plus 2 lecturers.
The speakers expressed concern over the inordinate delay in the adjustment of promoted lecturers and the existence of a large number of vacancies in the schools, which has adversely affected the education of the students.
They demanded enhancement of the grade pay of Principals and declaration of their post as non vacational, removal of pay anomaly of lecturers in Physical Education, running pattern in favour of Plus 2 cadre, formulation and implementation of rational transfer policy and regularisation of all Joint Directors, Chief Education Officers, Principals and lecturers serving in the Incharge capacity in the School Education Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Arunesh Kumar said that there should be a rational and transparent transfer policy in the School Education Department which should be approved and ratified by the State Cabinet and it should be strictly implemented.
He also demanded enhancement in the remuneration in the rates of supervisory and evaluation duties of JKBOSE, holding of examinations in time, timely clearance of bills and publication of annual calender of various activities by the Board.
Prominent among others who addressed the meeting included DP Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Ashwani Sharma, Parjesh Kumar, Mohan Lal Sharma, Shivdev Singh, Manohar Lal, Rashpal Singh, Sudesh Shastri and Mangat Ram.
