Plus 2 lecturers meet Sharma, seek intervention in settling issues

JAMMU, May 24: A delegation of All JK +2 Lecturers’ Forum district Kishtwar today sought the intervention of former Minister and ex MLA in settling long pending demands of teachers and Plus 2 lecturers.
The delegation was led by district president, Pardeep Koul and RS Salathia, Chairman All JK +2 Lecturers ‘ Forum was also present in the meeting.
Sharma was apprised of various issues vis-a-vis regularisation, ACP,  re-launch of ATD at all levels and creation of the post of Vice Principal in all Higher Secondary Schools.
Regarding ATD, he was requested to use his influence for the re-launch of ATD portal for transparent transfers of teaching and non- teaching staff especially for those who have served long periods in the hard zones.
Koul brought the matter of regularisation of in charge lecturers in all streams including Sciences to the notice of Sharma so that staff is in place before the new academic session begins. He apprised Sharma that Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary SED is doing his best to complete the process of regularisation before the start of new academic session as he is in the process of so many innovatives. Regarding granting permission to pursue PG degrees through distance/ regular mode, Sharma was told that such powers have been delegated to DSEJ/DSEK, CEOs and even ZEOs and DDOs by the Administrative Department from time to time. Sharma was requested to get the process expedited.
Regarding ACP, the delegation requested Sharma to get this long pending issue settled once for all.
To further strengthen the administration at school level, Koul requested Sharma to get the posts of vice principals created in all Higher Secondary Schools.
The growing drug menace among students was also discussed. The delegation apprised Sharma that they are conducting Awareness programmes to sensitize the students in particular at district, zonal and school level but unfortunately parents are showing lesser response but they will be involved to get the results on ground.
Reacting to various issues raised by the delegation, Sharma said that he would get in touch with the LG administration soon for the resolution of the issues.
