JAMMU, Nov 13: A delegation of All JK Plus 2 PSC Lecturers’ Association Jammu, led by its president Manjeet Chib, separately called on Minister of Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana and Satish Sharma, Minister of ARI &Trainings, Youth Services & Support and IT.
The delegation submitted them memorandum seeking intervention for the grant of Assured Career Progression (ACP).
Manjeet Chib apprised Javed Rana about the core issue of stagnation in service being faced by +2 lecturers, particularly direct recruits. He informed Javed Rana that there is no provision of Career Progression and hence +2 lecturers are the worst sufferers having very limited promotion avenues.
Informing the Minister that a sub-committee has been constituted by Secretary GAD to examine the issue of Assured Career Progression (ACP)/ Time Bound Promotion (TBP), Chib appealed the Minister to project the demand on behalf of +2 lecturers.
“The Union Territory of Ladakh has recently extended the benefits of Assured Career Progression (ACP) scheme to the Lecturers of School Education Department as per the guidelines of Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme. However, no such scheme has been formulated for +2 Lecturers appointed through Direct recruitment. This inaction, is leading to stagnation of +2 Lecturers, which is unfair and discriminatory,” read the memorandum, submitted by the delegation.
The Minister gave patient hearing and assured that the matter will be taken up with Chairman and other members.
The delegation also called upon Satish Sharma, Minister for ARI &Trainings, Youth Service & Sports and apprised him about the issues of +2 cadre. The delegation also submitted a memorandum and appealed him to intervene for the early redressal of the issue.
